Invisalign®
We are happy to be able to provide our patients with orthodontic options using Invisalign® technology.
Why Invisalign?
Invisalign can be a great option for adults and teens who do not want the appearance of traditional braces, but desire straighter teeth that they can wear with pride. When teeth are properly aligned, they generally need less dentistry over time. Teeth that are aligned allow for better cleaning and fewer periodontal issues, fewer cracks, and less need for crowns or fillings. Invisalign is preferred over traditional braces for esthetics and cleanseability – since the aligners are removable, it is much easier to brush and floss opposed to traditional brackets and wires.
Invisalign Technology
The innovations and technology offered by Invisalign makes it possible to achieve results from simple to complex bite concerns.
Conditions treated with Invisalign include
- Crowding
- Gaps or spacing
- Cross bite
- Deep bite
- Open bite
The Invisalign Process
Starting Invisalign requires impressions or a scan of your teeth, and a pantomograph to ensure there are no infections, and photos.
Next, Dr. Hurlbut or Dr. Sasse works with Invisalign to create a treatment plan for a functional and beautiful smile.
“Buttons” are placed on the teeth at the first appointment. Buttons are small composite bumps that allow the invisalign aligner to “grab” the tooth better for more predictable movement.
After Treatment
You will need to be seen in our office every 4-6 weeks to receive new aligners and to have an exam with the doctor to ensure there are no problems during treatment.
When treatment is complete, retainers are fabricated to prevent dental relapse.
